Band of the Day… Midnight Lion

I thought I would let you know about these guys early.  No live dates booked as yet and the Midnight Lion Myspace has only been up since September but going just on the 3 songs these could be ones to keep an eye on over the next few months.

They have a real Classic 80’s vibe with loads of space in their music that is very reminiscent of ‘Talk Talk’. Stewart Brock’s vocals also remind me of a less gymnastic Billy Mackenzie, which is great as I can’t think of many bands recently that have ‘Associates’ influences.

After a little more digging it seems that both Stewart and Lewis were both in Glaswegian bands that teetered on big things but never quite made it but going by the demos online it feels like they may have found the right sound to change their fortunes.
