BBC Sound of 2010 – Delphic

delphicManchester’s Delphic came on the scene well over a year ago getting people excited with their euphoric electronica merged with jangeling indie guitars.  Their pulsing hypnotic songs with a huge nod to New order, Kraftwerk, Radiohead and even Neil Tennant still manage to sound relevant and fresh in 2010.  They do not disappoint, especially with tracks like ‘Doubt’  fusing glitchy beats and repetitive chants which do not sound that far removed from recent Animal Collective album “Merriweather Post Pavilion”.  They have already supported Orbital and Kasabian and showed that their mix of dance and indie is crossing over to both audiences. Not so sure about their motto though: “The guitar is dead, long live the guitar”

Check out the recent Jools Holland clip below and keep checking back for the album review.
