Dirty Boots @ The Halfmoon – Friday 29th January

As the possible closure of the Halfmoon looms at the end of January, you can expect an all round party vibe in celebration of the legendary venue in Putney. We at DirtyBoots will do our best to help try to save one of London’s oldest grass root venues by putting on a night on what could be the LAST EVER WEEKEND OF LIVE MUSIC at famous South West London haunt.  The Halfmoon has been hosting live music regularly since 1963.  Since that time it has seen performances by, among others, The Rolling Stones, U2, The Small Faces, Ralph McTell, Badly Drawn Boy, Kate Bush and countless more.

We have invited our friends along to play and there will be plenty of suprises and special guests throughout the evening so please make sure you come along and show your support.

It is cheap entry and all proceeds will go to the ‘Save the Halfmoon’ campaign… a great cause worth fighting for…

Friday 29th January @ The Halfmoon

Conspirators

Expect a perfectly ramshacle set from this fantastric London based 6 piece as blast throough their thrill-billy booze anthems and  raise a glass whilst you dance yourself stupid off and leave the worries of the world behind..

One

Eccentric Indie Glam from this london 4 piece with layered  guitars and swooning  vocals, imagine Bolan meets Jeff Buckley and you are halfway there.

Them Changes

Lovers of sixties rock and roll, blues and R&B , Them changes throw all of their influences into a fantastic melting pot that makes up their classic sound…expect a full set by the guys and some suprises throughoot the night as we invite guests to play along side them.

… we will also have a few other tricks up our sleeves for you on our first live night of 2010.

As well as still catering for touring bands and artists The Halfmoon has, more recently, been an important stepping stone for emerging talent, notably Kasabian, Imogen Heap, The Wombats, Newton Faulkner, Mr Hudson and Amy McDonald.

When bands are making the transition from playing in the corner of a pub to much bigger venues, they need that stepping stone. Places like The Halfmoon fill that niche.

Current tenant James Harris says  ”We are at the grass roots of live music and The Halfmoon is an engine room for rising bands throughout the UK, who are now running out of quality venues to play.”

See you there!
