href="http://www.myspace.com/elliegoulding" target="_blank" onclick="pageTracker._trackPageview('/outgoing/www.myspace.com/elliegoulding?referer=');">Ellie Goulding</a> who we see crossing over to the masses.  We know that 2009 has been inundated with solo female artists and it almost feels as though there may be no more room for another in 2010 but Ellie’s work with Starsmith has a definitive fresh sound to it and with tracks like ‘Starry Eyed’ and ‘Under the Sheets’  this girl right here could well be the sound of next summer!</p><p>A lot of people have used Kate Bush and Bjork as comparisons for Miss Goulding, and we must admirt there are definitely elements in there, but we also can hear a large helping of Liz Fraser, the Cocteau Twins and a more blissed out Stevie Nicks in parts.  I also think that we will be hearing a lot from Starsmith (the man behind Ellie&#8217;s music) as he has recently been signed and word has it he will be bringing out a collaborations album in 2010.</p><p>Check out Ellie’s later performance and keep checking back as we will be reviewing the album as soon as it comes in.</p><p><a

href="http://www.myspace.com/twodoorcinemaclub" target="_blank" onclick="pageTracker._trackPageview('/outgoing/www.myspace.com/twodoorcinemaclub?referer=');">Two Door Cinema Club</a> .  We have always been a fan here at DirtyBoots but were a little suprised when we saw them on the BBC poll, not because they are not worthy (not at all) but because they have been around for a good couple of years now and were on a lot of last years tips for  2009 lists, although the more I thought about this I realised that they have been constantly touring and building a fanbase in in the good ol fashion way and it this could be their year in the UK after storming Europe with the Kitsune releases.  Best starting point for Two Door&#8217;s probably the track  &#8217;something can work&#8217; as it stays with you from first listen and definitely make sure that you check these guys out live as they were one of our highlights at last year&#8217;s Dirty Boots Stage at Glastonbury.</p><p>Check back tomorrow as I will be giving my views on another act from this year&#8217;s poll but in the meantime here is Two Door&#8217;s <a

href="http://www.myspace.com/owlcity" target="_blank" onclick="pageTracker._trackPageview('/outgoing/www.myspace.com/owlcity?referer=');">Owl City</a> but for me I think I will stick to playing the one and only Postal Service album &#8216;Give Up&#8217; whilst I look forward to the long waited follow up.</p><p>Anyway here&#8217;s the <a

href="http://www.myspace.com/thedrumsforever" target="_blank" onclick="pageTracker._trackPageview('/outgoing/www.myspace.com/thedrumsforever?referer=');">The Drums</a> who I have been a fan of since I first heard them but I am really suprised how much Radio One have picked up on such a Lofi sound.  With a massive Cure influence and very much a DIY 80&#8217;s sound, this band seem more suited for the oldschool c86 tapes, but all the better that they are getting daytime airplay as it breaks up the continuous autotune pop that seems to be flooding the airwaves at the moment.  Check them out by clicking on the link <a
